Who We Are
We are a group of engineering and social science professors who have committed our careers to transforming engineering by changing the ways engineers are taught to think, define, and solve problems. By bringing together faculty from disciplines ranging from anthropology to environmental engineering and from engineering studies to geological engineering, we bring to life the intertwined social and technical dimensions of engineering practice.
Our program comprises a set of core faculty as well as affiliated faculty. Our core faculty are members of the Engineering, Design and Society Division at the Colorado School of Mines. We also participate in wider academic networks that enrich our work and commitment to humanitarian engineering.
Coming from all engineering and applied science majors, our students have deep interests and passions to make engineering relevant to the solution of the world’s most pressing problems, especially those affecting poor communities in the US and abroad. Meet just a few of our alumni.
